Integrative medical practice, Healing Arts Medical, relocates to new Midtown location

Ann-Fleming Powell, Director, Office Tenant Representation with Trinity Partners, recently represented Healing Arts Medical, an innovative medical practice that specializes in a non-traditional medical approach to the treatment of disease and the maintenance of health and well-being, in its search for a new medical office space. The practice signed a lease in August of this year at 601 S Kings Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina’s, Midtown market.

“My favorite thing about being a Tenant Rep is that I get to help my client’s problem solve,” Powell said. “Dr. Mokari’s unique business and space need was an exciting and different project to tackle and I’m happy to see him settled in his new space.”

Powell and Healing Arts’ Medical Director and Owner, Dr. Babak Mokari, DO, began searching for a new location for the business in Oct. 2016, but finding a space that fit all the necessary requirements was a unique challenge for Powell. The search parameters of the space focused on size, square footage, good visibility, functionality, and the need for plenty of parking. Since the business is a nontraditional medical practice that has a holistic and integrated medicine model, Dr. Mokari was wanting to distinguish it from traditional medical practices that are typically located in traditional medical plazas.

“Ann-Fleming was really amazing from the beginning,” Dr. Mokari said. “She came to my space that I was at previously to see what the set up was, as well as what my needs were. I had a specific vision in my mind and she was very patient with me to try to understand what I wanted. With the new lease, she helped with reviewing the lease, looking at the space and making sure we were asking for the right things with the upfit and lease terms.”

Dr. Mokari practices osteopathic manipulation therapy, which is used to treat a variety of ailments ranging from back pain, neck pain, sports injuries and more. The services that Healing Arts provides range from osteopathic evaluations and manipulation therapy to medical acupuncture and hypnotherapy.

Healing Arts was previously co-located in a Novant Health building off Caswell Road, and has been in business for nearly four years with a client list of more than 600 patients. The negotiation of the new space included an upfit, which took place prior to the business moving in. The space was soundproofed, replacing the walls and doors in the process, as well as other minor changes to create a relaxing and inviting environment to suit the business’ needs. Carolinas Sports Massage is a co-tenant of Healing Arts Medical, as well, making the space one that promotes healing and wellness.
