Luis Cortes is a Senior Chief Engineer at Trinity Partners with 34 years of experience in building engineering. In his role, he oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and building automation systems, ensuring each system runs safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Luis specializes in optimizing critical building infrastructure to minimize downtime while keeping operating costs in check and maintaining a comfortable environment for tenants. A recent highlight of his work at Trinity includes managing the full replacement of 40 air handling units at One South, a major capital improvement project that significantly enhanced the building’s HVAC reliability and tenant comfort. His responsibilities spanned the entire project lifecycle, from planning the work sequence and coordinating mechanical, electrical, controls, and testing contractors, to overseeing installation, electrical connections, controls integration, and system startup.

Outside of work, Luis is an avid road and mountain cyclist who has participated in multiple 200-mile Bike MS charity rides across different states for the past 15 years. The experience, he says, has reinforced the values of perseverance, discipline, and giving back. He enjoys spending time with his family and is a proud Schnauzer enthusiast.
