Popular Asheville pizzeria secures space in prime South End location

Charlotte, North Carolina – August 14, 2023 – PIE.ZAA, founded by former New York resident Tyler Kotch, recently secured a lease at 1440 S Tryon Street in South End. The NY-style pizzeria signed a long-term lease with plans to open its new 2,503 square foot space to the public in late 2023.

PIE.ZAA originally opened its doors in Asheville’s South Slope Brewing District in 2020, serving massive slices in classic flavors like cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and a “garden” pie with vegetables. Since opening, the popular 12-inch slices have been featured in articles by Bon Apetit and Tasting Table. Currently open until midnight during the week, and 1:00 a.m. on the weekend, PIE.ZAA will continue offering its late-night hours at its new space in Charlotte.

Kotch first started his journey in Charlotte 10 years ago, working in a food truck with chef Aaron Rivera. “I’m excited to be back in Charlotte. South End is a perfect spot for late-night eats and a concept that can complement the businesses and community around it,” Kotch said. “PIE.ZAA will not only be a popular late-night spot to hang out, but it will also be a place people want to go for a quick lunch or enjoy a nice cold local beer, bringing a little slice of New York to the South.”
