News CoStar renews lease at One South at The Plaza
One South at The Plaza (formerly Bank of America Plaza) is pleased to announce CoStar Group has renewed its lease at the Class-A downtown tower.
CoStar Group is the leading provider of commercial real estate information, analytics and online marketplaces. The firm first moved to the building in 2015 and has renewed its lease for 4,114 RSF on the 25th floor.
John Christenbury, Senior Vice President at CBRE, represented CoStar in the transaction. Trinity Partners’ Rhea Greene, Maddy Howey, and Tim Arnold represented the owner and landlord, Cousins Properties.
“It’s really an honor to have such a highly-respected industry leader choose to remain at One South,” noted Howey. “One South’s center-city location, amenities, and walkability continue to appeal to a diverse range of companies hoping to attract top talent.”
The iconic tower is located at Trade and Tryon Streets, referred to as “The Square” and known as the center of the city’s business and office activity. In 2017, the building completed a $25 million renovation of its lobby, plaza, and exterior façade, including new street-level retail (home to Eddie V’s, Tupelo Honey, and Devon & Blakely). Cousins is planning to invest an additional $10 million in common area and retail improvements.
One South totals 891,000 SF across 40 floors, with an average floor size of 22,000 SF. The building’s outdoor plaza connects to Uptown’s Overstreet Mall, including popular retailers like Walgreen’s, Starbucks, and Chick-Fil-A. Current tenants include Alston & Bird, Industrious, SCOR Global Life Americas, and Shumaker Loop & Kendrick. The building features 350,000 RSF across 16 floors and full naming and signage rights available.
