Mooresville Festival Welcomes Newest Tenant: National Discount Retailer Big Lots

Mooresville, NC – June 26, 2013 – Trinity Partners is pleased to announce Mooresville Festival’s newest tenant, Big Lots. The national discount retailer will take 34,207 SF of space in the shopping center, currently home to anchor tenants Belk and Kohl’s.

Beverly Keith, CCIM, Senior Director of Retail Services at Trinity Partners, represented the landlord, Mooresville Partners Limited Partnership, in the transaction. Big Lots was represented by Tim Brennan of The Navigator Group.

The 159,625 SF shopping center, located just off of Interstate 77 at 350 West Plaza Drive in Mooresville, has a 6% occupancy rate, well below the national and regional retail averages. Recent renewals at the center include Maurice’s, Modern Nail Spa and SpringLeaf Financial. Trinity Partners has handled leasing and property management at Mooresville Festival for just over a year on behalf of its owner, Mooresville Partners Limited Partnership. The firm’s Director of Property Management, Heather Thompson, manages the retail center.

“With Big Lots relocation to Mooresville Festival, this national retailer improves its exposure in the market with both a larger footprint and a more central location,” noted Keith. “But the bigger benefit is to Big Lots, core customer, because the relocation enhances their shopping experience by providing access to Kohl’s and Belk.
